Adele Branded ‘a Little Too Fat’ by Karl Lagerfeld
Though being criticized for her weight, the ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker still gets some acknowledgment for her beautiful face and divine voice from the head designer for Chanel.Adele might need an apology from famed fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. The creative director and head designer for Chanel has recently taken a jab at the “Someone Like You” hitmaker’s weight, saying in a recent interview with Metro that although she has “a beautiful face and a divine voice”, she “is a little too fat”.
Lagerfeld made the comment when asked about up-and-coming singer Lana del Rey. In his response, he said, “I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”
About del Rey herself, the 78-year-old commented, “Lana del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful.” Still, he added, “Is she a construct with all her implants? She’s not alone with implants.”
Lagerfeld wasn’t the only one bashing Adele though. Fellow British musician Noel Gallagher predicted that the 23-year-old’s fame won’t last long. To Mail on Sunday, he said, “I feel sorry for girls in the music industry. They do have a very short shelf life. For instance, Duffy: who? Gone. She was massive. And I don’t doubt for a second that the same thing will happen to Adele.”
