Amber Riley Assures She’s Fine After Collapsing on Red Carpet

The actress known for her role as Mercedes Jones on FOX’s hit series “Glee” fainted and collapsed in the middle of red carpet interviews at an event hosted by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood on Tuesday, May 1 evening.
Despite the health scare, the 25-year-old informed her Twitter followers, “I’m okay ” In the same tweet, she explained why she collapsed in the first place. “I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes! You’d think I’s be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I guess,” she wrote. “Gonna get checked out but I feel fine. Thank you for all the concern and well wishes.”
Riley followed up the post with another long tweet in which she expressed her gratitude to the photographers. “I’d also like to thank the photographers for being do professional and not taking photos of me on the ground,” the TV star tweeted. “I truly truly appreciate it. Could have been super embarrassing.”
On Tuesday, the Academy held a panel discussion of “Glee” in front of Emmy voters at the Leonard Goldenson Theatre. Beside Riley, the event also saw the attendance of other stars from the show, including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch.
