Anne Hathaway Hits Back At “Catwoman” Haters

The claws are out! Anne Hathaway is biting back at the many critics who didn’t like the first official photo of her as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. Many have commented on the distinct lack of feline qualities seen in the first pic, but Anne won’t hear of it.
“What I am happy to say is, if you don’t like the photo, you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do,” the former Disney princess, 28, told MTV News Tuesday. “And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”
She even asked a friend to send her public reactions to the photo. “And I happen to know that MTV’s reaction was, ‘Meh,’” she retorted with a smirk.
Awkward!
Stepping into a role previously played by screen sirens like Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt is not something Anne takes lightly.
So many great women have worn [the costume] before me. Its an honor to don the suit.
While promoting her other new movie One Day (which has copped the Oscar nominee some flak for an awkward Yorkshire accent), Anne said that “It’s disappointing” that on-set photos from next year’s much-anticipated Batman film have gone online (get a sneak peek here). However, she promises that director Christopher Nolan’s film will be “insane,” and notes that “you can’t imagine the things that he’s doing.”
Let’s hope that catsuit is everything Anne says it’s going to be!
