Aretha Franklin Engaged!

Wedding bells are ringing for the Queen of Soul. Like Britney Spears, a newly slimmed down Aretha Franklin is hoping the third time’s a charm.

The 69-year-old “Respect” hit-maker got engaged to longtime boyfriend William “Willie” Wilkerson over the holidays. Franklin is eyeing a summer wedding, possibly in Miami Beach, the Grammy-winning singer told the Associated Press Monday. There’s also planning a post-ceremony reception on a private yacht in the works.

And what designer will have the honor of designing Miss. Ree’s wedding gown? And she’s thinking either Vera Wang, Valentino and Donna Karan will design her dress.

This will be the third marriage for Franklin; she was wed to Ted White from 1961-1969 and Glynn Turman from 1978-1984.

And for the record, “No, Im not pregnant,” Aretha jokes.
