Ashley Greene: Kissing Olivia Wilde Ends Up Being Really Fun
Calling her co-star ‘a cool chick’, the Kaitlen Pickler of ‘Butter’ says in a magazine interview that her first experience filming a love scene with a woman ‘wasn’t that awkward’.Ashley Greene apparently enjoys filming her first love scene with a woman thanks to Olivia Wilde. “It wasn’t that awkward,” recalled the 24-year-old actress when talking about filming the makeout session with the “In Time” beauty for “Butter” in an interview with Lucky magazine for its upcoming March issue.
The “Twilight Saga” actress explained, “It’s the same idea when you’re having to kiss a male costar and it’s not real. Olivia is such a cool chick and very professional. So we were just messing around and cracking up in between scenes, and it ended up being really fun.” She further gushed, “And now I’m the envy of every straight male everywhere!”
During the chat, Greene also opened up about having to prove herself beyond her “Twilight Saga” realm. “Basically I went from ‘dying to get a gig’ to ‘dying to get the gig that everyone wants’,” she said. “So now I’m in this realm with a lot of highly respected actresses, which is an amazing place to be, but also kind of terrifying.”
Coming from the hand of “She’s Out of My League” director Jim Field Smith, “Butter” follows a young orphan who, after being adopted by a Midwestern family, discovers she has an uncanny talent for butter-carving. She eventually finds herself up against the ambitious wife of the retired reigning champion in a town’s annual butter-sculpting contest.
Joining Greene and Wilde in the cast ensemble are Yara Shahidi, Jennifer Garner, Ty Burrell and Hugh Jackman among others. The comedy movie itself is set to hit theaters across the United States on March 16.
