Betty White: “Bea Arthur Hated Me!”
Happening Now! America’s Sweetheart and the last survivng Golden Girl, Betty White, chats about the release of her new autobiography — If You Ask Me… — on The Joy Behar Show Thursday (10 PM on HLN). In this clip from tonight’s show, the Hot in Cleveland octogenarian speaks candidly about the fact that her late Golden Girls co-star Bea Arthur was never a fan of her larger-than-life personality, even though Betty always looked up to the Maude alum with adoring eyes.
We hear Bea was quite fond of calling Betty a not-so-pleasant word that rhymes with “Dunt.” Oh say it ain’t so, Dorothy!
“Bea had a reserve. She was not that fond of me. She found me a pain in the neck sometimes. It was my positive attitude–and that made Bea mad sometimes. Sometimes if I was happy, she’d be furious!” White confided to fans during a book singing event in New York this week.
Arthur died of cancer in 2009.
