Evan Rachel Wood Is Blissful Over Her Second Golden Globe Nom

She’s quick to express her excitement by tweeting, “The only time it’s ok to wake me up at 5 30 In the morning is when you are telling me I have been nominated for my second golden globe!”
The 24-year-old movie beauty receives the nod at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in Series, Miniseries or Television Film. To win the title, she has to compete against Jessica Lange (“American Horror Story”), Kelly Macdonald (“Boardwalk Empire”), Maggie Smith (“Downton Abbey”), and Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family”).
Wood was first nominated for a Golden Globe award in 2004. Back then, she vied for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, thanks to her portrayal as Tracy Louise Freeland in movie “Thirteen”. She fought against Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron, but lost it to the “Monster” actress.
Beside expressing her joy for the nod she gets, the Sophie-Anne Leclerq of “True Blood” has additionally congratulated her two fellow movie stars who make to the list this year. “Woo hoo. Shout out to George clooney and @ryangosling for their nominations and #idesofmarch snagging a best picture nom. So proud!” so she wrote three hours later after posting her self-celebratory tweet.
Wood shares screen with George Clooney and Ryan Gosling in “The Ides of March”. While she only gets one nod, the two male actors score 3 and 2 nominations respectively. The former is up for Best Director, Best Screenplay for a Motion Picture and Best Actor in a Drama, while the latter is competing for Best Actor in a Drama and Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.
Nominations for the 69th Golden Globe Awards were announced in a press conference at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on December 15. Sofia Vergara, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones, and Gerard Butler were on hand to reveal the nominees. The winners are going to be unveiled on January 15, 2012 in a star-studded ceremony hosted by Ricky Gervais.
