Jamie & Lynne Spears — Britney Spears Parents — Reconcile Eight Years After Divorce
Jamie and Lynne Spears, the parents of pop sensation Britney Spears, are giving love a second chance eight years after they divorced.
They are back together and are doing well and happy. [They're] not remarried but back together, a family friend told PEOPLE Monday. Lynne is a dear, sweet person. She deserves happiness. As her friend, my wish for her would be a happy ending.”
Jamie, who is still in control of his pop star daughters medical, financial and career affairs under a conservatorship, and Lynne are said to have first reconciled last year. They presented a united front during their pop star daughters emotional breakdown a few years ago and now it appears their romance is back on. According to an onlooker, Lynne and Jamie — who first wed in 1975 — looked to be enjoying each others company at Boudoir, a Los Angeles-area hotspot, where they spent time on Saturday, and where they were spotted grooving to a DJ spinning some of their most famous tunes.
They were in a great mood together, the witness told the mag. They were laughing together dancing and laughing [and] totally having fun.
When her parents parted ways after nearly 30 years of marriage in 2002, Britney described it as the best thing thats ever happened to my family.”
My mom and dad, bottom line, do not get along. When I was a baby, they argued, she said at the time.
In addition to middle daughter Britney, the former couple have two other children, Bryan, 33, and Jamie Lynn, 19.
