Kitty Wells, “Queen of Country Music,” Dead at 92
Kitty Wells, dubbed by many as the “Queen of Country Music,” died this morning from complications of a stroke. She was 92.
The artist struck is big in 1952 with “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.”
In all, she totaled 35 top 10 hits on the country charts – including “Making Believe” and “Mommy For a Day” – and continued to tour all the way up until 2000.
