One Direction Have to Pass On Invitation to the White House
The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ hitmakers won’t be able to join First Lady Michelle Obama and her family at this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll because of their schedule.One Direction has been given a special invitation to visit the White House over this year’s Easter weekend, but has to decline it. According to The Sun, the British pop sensation were unable to accept First Lady Michelle Obama’s invite because of their previously-scheduled commitment.
The “What Makes You Beautiful” hitmakers were allegedly given the offer to attend the 134th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll when they met President Obama’s wife backstage at Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 31. A source told the tabloid, “She invited them to the White House for their annual Easter egg hunt on Easter Monday.”
The boyband consisted of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, however, had to pass on the offer because they are expected to fly to Australia. Still, the source noted, “They’d love to go another time.”
The first U.K. band ever to score #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, the season 7 contestant of “The X Factor” came to this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards to perform their hit single. The First Lady, in the meantime, attended the event with her daughters, 13-year-old Malia and 10-year-old Sasha, to honor Taylor Swift with the Big Help Award.
