Oscar Pistorius leaves jail after being granted bail
Former London Olympic star, Oscar Pistorius, has left the South African jail where he has been held for the last 8 days.
Pistorius is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. Magistrate Desmond Nair shocked the world today, when Pistorus wasn’t deemed a flight risk and was allowed to post bail and leave jail, while waiting for the next 6-8 months before his case will go to trial.
“I come to the conclusion that the accused has made a case to be released on bail,” Nair said.
After the verdict was announced, Oscar’s uncle made a statement on behalf of the family. “As a family, we know Oscar’s version of what happened that tragic night. And we know that that is the truth and that will prevail in the coming court cases.”
