Reese Witherspoon Hit By Car

Yikes! Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon was struck by a car in Santa Monica on Wednesday afternoon, Captain Judah Mitchell of the Santa Monica Police Department tells PEOPLE Magazine.
The starlet, Avon spokeswoman, and mother-of-two was jogging when she was hit by a car travelling at approximately 20mph, police said. Witherspoon, 35, was taken to a nearby hospital and discharged a short time later. Her rep assures fans that Reese was not seriously injured and is now “resting comfortably at home.”
(The sound you just heard was Hollywood breathing a collective sigh of relief…)
Ironically, Reese’s accident coincides with the release of her new interview with Marie Claire Magazine, in which the twice-married Witherspoon gushes about her wedding to Hollywood agent Jim Toth earlier this year.
“You know, somebody close to me once said, ‘Oh, no man will ever accept your children.’ And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life,” the October cover girl reveals. “I was determined to find somebody who would make that not true. And I got lucky. I did. I got very lucky, and he’s wonderful. And so wonderful with the children. I’m very blessed…Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband.”
