Donning a gorgeous sparkling ball gown while sitting on a couch, Taylor plays her acoustic guitar as she sings ‘Eyes Open’, which is her second single from the upcoming film’s soundtrack album.Taylor Swift delivered a special treat to her fans during a recent concert in Auckland, New Zealand. While performing in front of 12,000 hysterical fans at the Vector Arena, the country superstar introduced the second song she wrote for “The Hunger Games” soundtrack called “Eyes Open”.
Looking gorgeous in a sparkling gown while sitting on a sofa, Taylor teased her fans before she performed the song, “You don’t think I’d get in trouble if I played it now? Probably not, right?” The blond beauty then played her guitar as she started to sing the song, which lyrics touch on the film’s darker tones.
“Yesterday we were just children / Playing soldier just pretending / Dreaming dreams with happy endings,” so Taylor sings on the track acoustically. “In backyards, waging battles with the wooden swords / But now we’ve stepped into a cruel world / Where everybody stands and keeps score.”
Aside from “Eyes Open”, Taylor contributed “Safe & Sound” for the soundtrack album of the highly anticipated novel-adapted film, which opens in the U.S. on March 23. Also featured in the collaborative album, which will be released on March 23, are Kid Cudi, Miranda Lambert, The Decemberists and Arcade Fire.
Taylor’s performance in New Zealand was a part of her “Speak Now” world tour. While on stage, she endeared herself to her fans by telling them that their country was “the most beautiful place on earth.” She gushed, “This is the first time I’ve ever stood on a stage in New Zealand and I’ve got to say Auckland, this is quite a first impression.”
