On Monday night, June 4, the “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” hitmaker took part in Macy’s 35th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular by performing two songs before an audience that included men and women of the armed forces.
Stunning in a strapless floor length black gown with pink and white necklace, the 29-year-old R&B diva first hit the stage, which is set against the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty, to perform her single “Best Thing I Never Had”. Before fireworks lighted up the sky over the Hudson River, she delivered her Lee Greenwood cover of “God Bless the U.S.A.”
This year’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks was hosted by Nick Lachey. Aside from Queen Bey, Brad Paisley also provided the entertainment at the Rooftop Bar with his performance of “Welcome to the Future”. The event picked up the theme of “Gift of Freedom” and also paid special tribute to the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
