Who Are the Worst Celebrity Tippers?
Unless you’re just completely unaware of modern tipping policies for restaurant servers, cheaping out on gratuities for those people who work so hard for a living says a lot about your character. And none of it is good.
Miami food blog ShortOrder recently took a look at the slew of websites that keep track of the best and worst celebrity tippers and compiled a top ten list of shame for those who have the money and the wherewithal to be generous but simply choose not to be.
They do point out two excellent tippers first — President Obama, whom servers in a Washington, D.C. restaurant said tipped 35% when he came through with staffers during his 2008 campaign, and Johnny Depp, who left servers more than 50% of the total bill when he took friends out for a meal while filming the movie “Public Enemies.”
